The National Cancer Institute awarded two Brain Cancer SPOREs
in the year 2002 by the P50 grant mechanism. Two additional
institutions received Brain Cancer SPORE planning grants (P20
grant mechanism) co-sponsored by the National Cancer Institute
and the National Institute
of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). The planning
grant will allow investigators over the period of two years
gain additional research data and apply for a full Brain Cancer
SPORE in the next round.
